Bob Setzer, Jr, is pastor of Knollwood Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Beginning in June of this year, he and his wife Bambi began a two-month sabbatical journey in the United Kingdom exploring the roots of Celtic spirituality. The title of this blog is inspired by the early Celtic devotion to the Beloved Disciple, traditionally thought to be John, resting his head upon the chest of Jesus at the Last Supper (John 13:23-25 (KJV). This image has been widely popularized by J. Philip Newell in his excellent introduction to Celtic spirituality titled, Listening for the Heartbeat of God.
